Color Jam | Jessica Stockholder

Color Jam by Jessica Stockholder:

CHICAGO, IL (June 5, 2012) – The Chicago Loop Alliance (CLA) opens today the largest public artwork in Chicago history, Color Jam, at the intersection of State and Adams Streets in the Chicago Loop. Internationally-renowned multi-media artist Jessica Stockholder was commissioned by the CLA to create the three-dimensional vinyl artwork, which envelopes the downtown intersection with flashes of color and geometric shapes that spill from building facades onto the sidewalk and streets. Composed of over 76,000 square feet of colored vinyl—enough material to make 50,000 vinyl records or wrap 130 city buses—Color Jam will delight pedestrians now through September 30, 2012. An aerial video feed of Color Jam is streaming live at www.colorjamchicago.com now through the end of September.
